Slow Down Your Pace with a Scenic Drive During the Annual NY Amish Trail Open House, Oct. 6

It's time to prepare yourselves for a beautiful landscape of blazing reds, oranges and yellows! Come discover a ‘view’tiful autumn in the Enchanted Mountains of Cattaraugus County! Our backcountry roads are a kaleidoscope of color and activity, particularly along New York’s Amish Trail, making Fall an excellent time to take a leisurely stroll. Mark your calendars and take advantage of the fall foliage during our Autumn Open House on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012.

Slow down your pace with a scenic drive along New York’s Amish Trail. You will get a peek into a lifestyle that works hard without the use of modern conveniences. See Old Order Amish farmers out harvesting their fields with teams of workhorses under sunny blue skies. Amish roadside stands and shops overflowing with the fruits of their summer labor: fresh homemade jams and jellies, colorful handcrafted rugs and quilts, woven baskets, handmade furniture, fun wooden toys and yummy goats milk fudge.

Along the way, stop by our non-Amish Trail members for dining, shopping and staying. The friendly owners welcome your visit and can share more information about the local Amish. Many of our members also have Amish handmade items for sale within their establishments.

Looking for a quaint shop with a variety of merchandise? Check out one of the many retail member businesses; How about a scrumptious meal? Try one of the member restaurants. Want to make it a weekend getaway? Book a stay at one of the accommodations members located along the trail.

All this and more is waiting for you to experience, so plan your trip! Guided trips are available and can be customized to your liking, or set out on your own adventure. The Oct. 6 Open House is the perfect opportunity to start your Christmas shopping with some unique, homemade and handmade gifts from New York’s Amish Trail!
